About the Opportunity

Christopherson Fire Protection is seeking candidates for our Kitchen Fire Suppression System Technicians. Technicians will visit our customers locations to service and repair kitchen fire protection systems by manufacturers such as ANSUL and AMEREX. You will be working directly with our customers so a positive, friendly, caring attitude is paramount.

 

Job Duties

  • Inspecting and repairing pre-engineered restaurant fire suppression systems manufactured by ANSUL, Pyro Chem, RangeGuard, Kidde and Piranha.
  • Thorough understanding of NFPA, manufacturer and local fire codes for restaurant fire suppression systems.
  • Performing on-site emergency troubleshooting of fire suppression systems.
  • Identifying NFPA code and non-conformance issues.
  • Deliver proper documentation for all work performed.
  • Use of tablets and smart phones to record work performed, deficiencies, time clock etc.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years experience inspecting restaurant fire suppression systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A current and valid driver’s license with 3 or less points

About the Opportunity

Christopherson Fire Protection is currently seeking experienced Fire Alarm Technician with a minimum of 5 years experience and has a NICET 1, preferable a NICET II certificate. This position requires the ability to service, inspect and repair Fire Alarm systems for established customers on a scheduled basis.

Job duties

  • Testing and Inspecting fire alarm systems in commercial buildings
  • Responding to service requests, diagnose system malfunctions of fire alarms and adjust, repair or replace equipment as needed to bring into compliance
  • Fire Alarm System testing and inspection per NICET and local code standards
  • Preparing accurate and timely service tickets and reports

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a NICET 1, preferable a NICET II certification
  • Minimum of 5 years hands on experience
  • Experience performing special hazard suppression system inspection and repair is preferred (FM200 and Halon)
  • Functional knowledge to test and service the following fire alarms brands: Simplex, Notifier and Fire-Lite
  • Valid Drivers License with 3 or less points
  • Ability to be available on-call when scheduled
  • Must be knowledgeable of hand tools such as pipe wrenches, channel locks, drills, etc.

You are the primary support for field technicians. You must be able to learn and use emerging software and technology as we are a paperless office. Job Duties

This position is high energy, high pressure with high expectations all day everyday.

  • Continually call/email our  customers to schedule appointments for inspection and repairs.
  • Develop daily routes by geographic area for 6 to 8 technicians that meet revenue expectations
  • Follow up with customers to obtain approval for repair contracts
  • Obtain information from customers for necessary inspections and repairs
  • Data entry of customer information
  • Answer customer calls to schedule inspections, repairs and emergency services.
  • Other duties may include but not limited to filing, faxing, copying etc.

Fire Sprinkler Technician - View Job Details →

About the Opportunity

This position requires the ability to service, repair and replace Fire Sprinkler products and inspect Fire Sprinkler systems for established customers on a scheduled basis. Job duties include, but are not limited to, servicing, inspecting, and testing fire sprinkler systems to the prescribed standards, performing on-site emergency troubleshooting, and repairs of our customers Fire Sprinkler Systems, identifying code and non-conformance issues, and preparing accurate and timely service tickets and reports.

Inspection & Service

  • Will require carrying and climbing 6, 8, 10, or 12 ft ladders daily and occasionally needing to carry and climb extension ladders that are 24ft in length and weigh up to 75 lbs
  • The ability to climb and remove ladders from racks on the top of trucks and vans
  • Having the ability to take apart Dry Pipe Valves to reset the clapper with parts weighing in excess of 50 lbs
  • Need to use hand tools to tighten leaking parts or loosen bolts and nuts that may have not been removed for a lengthy time and are very tight
  • Reaching overhead and above drop ceilings to perform testing and operate control valve handles and tamper switches on valve ranging from 1 inch up to 10 inch OS+Y valves
  • Be able to turn the handles on large OS+Y valves that could be as large as 10 inch in pipe diameter
  • Need to have basic understanding of the safe use of hand tools required for the job
  • Be able to work at heights using lifts and ladders that could exceed 40 feet
  • Extended periods of walking and sitting to perform the inspections is required
  • Able to communicate clearly verbally as well as on paper

Repair

  • Be able to remove a Pipe Machine from a vehicle and set it up in an area that will allow for safe/clean operation
  • Able to use pipe wrenches in sizes from 10 inch up to 36 inch for working on large diameter pipe
  • Able to carry pipe the is used for the jobs which typically is not larger than schedule 10, 4 inch which is 59 lbs per a 10 foot 6 inch piece of pipe
  • Need to be able to carry ladders to and from the vehicle to the work are which can be a good distance away and up stairs
  • Ladders range from 4 foot step ladders to 24 foot extension ladders and everything in between
  • Be able to use the different types of pipe joining methods from threading to grooving and also solder joint

  • Perform inspections, maintenance and installation on fire extinguishers and emergency lighting for established customers on a scheduled basis.
  • Complete all inspection and service digital paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to communicate well with customers and explain the work being done and any repairs that are necessary.
  • Maintain van stock quantities of equipment and keep it in a neat and orderly manner and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Must be able to pass CA state licensing exam for fire extinguisher repair and service.
  • Must report deficiencies for office to review

Qualifications

  • Prior experience performing fire extinguisher inspection and maintenance
  • Able to consistently meet quality of work and daily revenue goals
